Train with Wes Walz

Curated Arms founder, Wes Walz, has been heavily involved with firearms since 2000. Being competitive by nature, Wes has trained with many of the top firearms instructors from around the U.S. He also has a background in personal and professional growth coaching, bringing a unique, thoughtful approach to instruction.

For years, Wes donated his time to help fellow shooters improve their skills. Now, he’s officially bringing firearms instruction into the Curated Arms business model — offering private and group coaching, as well as one-off and ongoing mentorship. From new shooters to competition-level marksmen, Wes is passionate about helping students reach their goals with clarity, simplicity, and encouragement.

Coaching Options

Our coaching programs are designed to meet shooters at every level, from brand-new beginners to those training for competition. Private coaching is available at $120 per hour (two-hour minimum) and includes an additional 30 minutes for new shooters to build a strong foundation in firearm safety and handling. Group sessions can be arranged for families, friends, or small teams, while ongoing mentorship offers customized guidance for continual growth and accountability. Looking ahead, we’ll be launching Competition and Practical Performance Courses in 2025 to help shooters push their skills even further.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine advanced techniques, our sessions focus on practical skills and confident performance. Beginners will learn the essentials of safe firearm use, proper grip, sight alignment, trigger control, and accuracy training in a supportive yet serious environment. Intermediate and advanced shooters can develop speed and efficiency through drills on shooting under pressure, target transitions, holster draws, magazine changes, and positional work. Every session is structured to build confidence, consistency, and precision while keeping training engaging and effective.
